THE UMB CAMPUS WAS HIT BY A MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE
Busyness also appears in a number of other buildings. Evacuation flows still continue. In a short time all students and lecturers who are in the campus environment have gathered at the set point. The victims are still on guard status by protecting their head and nape using their hands, some are protecting with backpacks.
The panic of thousands of students and lecturers was a disaster response simulation activity carried out for two days at the UMB campus, Meruya, Jakarta. This activity is an effort in order to foster disaster preparedness for the entire campus community.
"This disaster simulation is part of the campus effort to educate students and lecturers to understand disaster conditions," said UMB Resource Director, Dr. Augustina Kurniasih after seeing the simulation activities.
He hoped that this simulation activity would be able to make UMB a friendly and disaster-response environment. At the same time able to transmit disaster preparedness attitudes to the surrounding environment. So that they can understand and take part, if a disaster situation actually occurs.
